Haley Asbury
Get To Know Me
Haley Asbury was born and raised in Morris County, New Jersey. She earned a dual undergraduate degree in Dance Performance & Choreography (BFA) and Arts Administration (BA) with a minor in Business Administration from Elon University. During her time there, Haley performed guest artist work by Ashley Lindsay and Maurice Watson in various performances. During the spring semester of her junior year, Haley studied ballet, modern, and choreography in Florence, Italy at the Florence Dance Center and performed work by Angelo Egarese. During the summer of 2023, Haley interned with the Parsons Dance Company. In the fall of her senior year, Haley debuted her choreography entitled “You Will Never Know” in the Fall Dance Concert. She was also a member of the Danceworks program where she taught classes in a variety of styles and choreographed for the Spring Showcase.
Prior to college, Haley attended the Morris County School of Technology as a major in the VPA Dance program where she trained in modern and ballet and was inducted into the National Honors Society for Dance Arts as a junior. During her 4 years, Haley performed pieces by Christian Von Howard, Donna Scro, and Nicole Corea. She choreographed pieces titled “Consign to Oblivion” and “What Have I Done”, and was awarded a Youth Choreographer Award in 2019. In 2018 she was nominated for the New Jersey State Governor's Award for dance.
Outside of school, Haley trained at The Dance Academy of North Jersey where she studied Ballet/Fosse/Musical Theater with Jennifer Savelli, Modern/Ballet with Jaclyn Walsh, Ballet/Contemporary with Terk Lewis Waters, Lyrical with Daniel Vaniska, and Jazz/Tap with Jason Luks. Through The New York City Dance Alliance, Haley has been given opportunities such as competing for National Outstanding Dancer of the year, participating in Hamilton and Cats auditions, and being awarded scholarships that allowed her to take part in a summer dance intensive at PACE University. Over the summer of 2018, she attended the PACE Intensive where she was trained by Joe Lanteri, Andy Pellick, Joey Dowling, Grace Buckley, Rachel Kreiling, Scott Jovovich, Kat Wildish, Mattie Love, Rhonda Miller, and many more. In 2019, Haley was invited to perform at the Chita Rivera Awards with her studio and also worked as a backup dancer for Jackie Neese.
